Since the Serpentarium opened, we have taken in over 600 rescued or illegally imported animals. The cost of feeding, housing and caring for them all adds up. The income from entrance fees to the Serpentarium does not cover everything, especially with the short tourist season on Skye, so in 1998 we introduced an annual sponsorship scheme for the rescued reptiles.

The scheme covers all the Serpentarium animals; ranging from White's Tree Frogs to Large Green Iguanas and Mangrove Monitor Lizards. Sponsors can choose the level of sponsorship they want for a year (from £10 upwards) and which animal to sponsor (details are listed on the form). A Sponsorship certificate and newsletter is then sent.

Corporate sponsorship is also available from £150 a year and company name and details will be put on display in the serpentarium.

We are very grateful for the generosity of all our individual sponsors and in particular to a sponsor who wishes to remain anonymous for sponsoring a complete reptile exhibit. But we continually need new sponsors, whether individuals, small companies or larger corporations, for the animals and exhibits.
